Your Two Truths of Karate gets pushed into the second half of the show. A little deviation from the main topic. The problems of vendors and the world we have right now. The pleasant and the can-do people of the world are facing a deep challenge and we need to take a step back and allow these folks some slack.

A New Form of Measuring Time

A 21-minute wait turns into four loads of laundry. Is it the folks who are manning the phones responsible? No, people are losing their minds. The folks on the front lines are doing their best to do their jobs in difficult circumstances. These situations are no fault of the folks on the front lines. Be patient and do your laundry.

Your Two Truths of Karate

The two worlds are the worlds of science and the other is the world of the symbol. One believes itself to be true, right, and correct. That true right and correct is science. Symbols lean into the deeper look. You can go so far are to transpose the ideas of each of these viewpoints and the statements will read just as valid. Science leans into the deeper look. Symbols are about what is correct.

Measuring of Two Worlds

We Can Hold Those Ideas

Both of us can hold those ideas in our minds at the same time. We can do so even when each position, that of science and that of symbol are trying to dismiss each other. The old joke is that in the war between cats and dogs, dogs must not only win but cats must lose. When we all know, or have households where both co-exist.

Science Works Well

Science tells us what things are, this is a solid that is fluid, that is a planet. Codifications and taxonomy are means of breaking the world down into bite-size chunks. Symbols are peeking behind the veil.

Now, we are going to go down the rabbit hole of Christ, Buddha, Hippocrates, the Black Plague, Vermin, and miasma.
