Happy Friday folks, thanks for joining us again! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful week. Even with spring sports all but wrapped up (with a few exceptions), it was still quite a busy week in the MAC. Let’s break it down!

In this weeks’ news segment, Zach and Sam lead off with the athletics re-brand at Western Michigan. The Broncos have pared down their color scheme, while introducing a new primary logo. The general feeling seems to be that the new color scheme is fine, but the new logo is not. The boys give their thoughts. Also in Kalamazoo, WMU basketball standout announced his transfer to Penn State to finish his college career. This is certainly a loss for the Broncos, as he was their leading rebounder and second leading scorer next season. As a Penn State fan though, Zach was pleased by this move!

In some football news, both Western Michigan and Bowling green announced this week that they would have full capacity at their respective stadiums for football this fall. With three MAC schools now having announced full capacity (Toledo announced last week), we can’t help but feel that their conference brethren will follow suit soon. We’ll keep an eye on it!

In general MAC news, Kent State officially won the 2021 Jacoby Trophy, given each year to the top women’s athletic program in the MAC. The Golden Flashes were bolstered by conference championships in women’s golf and out door track and field, while finishing second in field hockey. On the men’s side, Miami captured the Reese trophy for the top men’s program in the conference. The Redhawks had strong seasons from many of their Olympic sports, highlighted by conference titles in outdoor track and field and swimming and diving. Congrats to both schools on their success this year!

Lastly in the news, the boys break down this weekends NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. The MAC schools have collectively sent 11 athletes to compete. We’re rooting for all of them to bring home a championship for the conference!

Moving into baseball talk, Zach and Sam recap Central Michigan’s run in the NCAA regionals this past weekend. After a loss to Notre Dame on Friday, the Chippewas bounced back to defeat in-state rivals Michigan and UConn on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. This earned them a birth in the regional final, again against Notre Dame. Unfortunately, the Fighting Irish proved to be too much. Nonetheless, CMU certainly represented the conference well in picking up two victories.

To close out the show this week, the boys look ahead to football season and each give their bold predictions for the season. You won’t want to miss this, as both Zach and Sam go out on a bit of a limb and make their predictions about who will win the conference this fall. Tune in to hear their thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by again this week folks. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @MAC_Bandwagon. Have a great weekend, and we’ll see you here again next Friday!
