Been feeling hungover lately after only a glass of wine?

Notice that your energy is off the entire day after enjoying a cocktail?

Does sleep escape you when you include a beer with dinner?

These are all signs that alcohol may be working far more against you these days rather than helping to calm you down.

And it may be one of the biggest reasons your hormones are out of whack.

In this week's episode, I chat with Tēfa Hallock, who decided to quit drinking two years ago when she noticed how much it was impacting her energy and ability to focus on her daughter's needs.

Though not a big drinker before, Tēfa learned how much alcohol was influencing not only her energy, but also her emotional world. We dive into what this experience has taught her, the benefits physically as well as spiritually, and how she deals with social experiences now (yes, she still goes out!).

We also talk about the ways that her menstrual cycle changed after giving up alcohol, which is particularly important for women in their 40s as their hormonal landscape is shifting and the liver needs extra support. One study recorded increased levels of estrogen, testosterone, and luteinizing hormone (LH) after just one alcoholic drink.

Raw and authentic, this interview provides a window into recognizing when alcohol is impacting more than you think.

Tēfa Hallock's unique resume blends 25 years of environmental activism with decades of business leadership, project management, and sustainable local government work. Her interdisciplinary expertise is a valuable asset to elected officials, CEO's, and executive directors who must remedy complex environmental, operational, or financial issues.

Tēfa's ability to cultivate successful endeavors while staying true to core values makes her a welcomed member of many teams, especially those looking to make a real difference in the world. Find out more at her website, or drop her a message at her IG.
