Owen reached out and wanted to chat about some endurance topics which are quite appropriate this time of year, as many athletes enter a base phase of training.

What is base training? But more importantly, WHY should we ride at endurance?

We look at how endurance training has landed us numerous P/1 state championships, and 6 Masters National Championships.

We chat about whether cadence work is necessary, and why we do or don't prescribe it.

Since I come from the northeast frozen tundra in Upstate NY, Owen had some questions as to what strategies I utilized before there were smart trainers and Zwift to occupy the time.

Remember, there are no short cuts. Sweet spot is NOT an effective short cut for endurance training.
