Edie threw herself into the fear of being a Downhiller, then again when she became a writer after retiring, but the time that really impressed me was when she, an able-bodied skier, had me teach her to monoski for the most impressive article that anyone has written on me. Our conversation goes from her ski racing career, to writing, to monoskiing, to the book she wrote on sex, to the deep bond she has with her teammates and helping one them back to the mountain following a plane crash.
