In the first 17 verses of this letter, Paul is introducing himself to the Christians in Rome. As an apostle, and a bondservant separated by the Gospel.. The people of this region didn't quite know him yet and it was imperative by Paul to reiterate the foundations of faith in Jesus, the incarnate Son of God, and the Resurrected Lord.
