“Screw it. I might as well eat whatever I want now, and start fresh tomorrow.”
Every person who struggles with binge eating knows about this moment … it’s the moment right before the binge where all willpower breaks. No matter how much we care about our goals and try to convince ourselves to walk away and be strong … we give in, and it all falls apart.
Not only that, but after all the dust has settled and we’ve eaten ourselves sick, we wonder WHY we keep doing this to ourselves. We reinforce that feeling of hopelessness. We beat ourselves for having no willpower.
Finally, while we set the intention to start again tomorrow, we know deep down this won’t be the last time we break a promise to ourselves.
