Gary O'Neil has finally been announced as Bournemouth permanent manager after an extended period of conjecture and waiting for Cherries fans. A mixture of circumstances meant that the wait for the rubber-stamping took longer than expected. Firstly, the complexities of the still unannounced takeover from Bill Foley's led consortium caused some delays, but also - AFC Bournemouth seemingly had designs on a "bigger" name, with Marcelo Bielsa top of the list. Despite the £100m takover, the hierarchy at Dean Court have opted for our caretaker boss to take the full role. Why?

Amongst the Boscombe fanbase there is relief, excitement, but also a concern at the way our managers are appointed - as Sam Davis conveys in this latest podcast.
