Atheists Talk cable program by Minnesota Atheists. "Godless Gamers" recorded 3/10/2016 Mahad Mohammad interviewed Hertzy Hertz and Daniel Hansen about Godless Gamers. This program centered on Dungeons and Dragons (D & D) starting with the first Edition in 1974. This was a new style of gaming, in that it involves role playing and fantasy characters developed by the participants. The games could last for days, weeks, months or longer. Before D & D games were simple. In Monopoly there is the fantasy role of the banker, and players are represented by tokens such as a hat, car or thimble. D & D broke that model and opened up a whole new world for participants. That led to a predicable backlash from some parents and various religious groups that continues to this day. Our guests systematically debunked the controversies and spoke of the game’s attraction, benefits and enjoyment.
