Rounding out a series based on the home, co-hosts Derek and Corrie Johnson discuss what it means to build a legacy for Christ within our homes. In order to do this, we must see that our mission is to be first and foremost, like Jesus. We have no higher goal or aim than to live out His Gospel as the standard for everything we do. Part of leaving a Godly legacy means we finish well. We do not allow our lives to retreat as we get older, rather we continue to engage those who follow us and impart wisdom and truth. Finally, in order to leave a strong legacy we realize our lives must constantly choose CALLING over COMFORT. In order to do this, we have to pick faith over fear and when we are forced with tough decisions, we do the thing that brings God the most glory.
A few verses guide our discussion today:
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
