This is episode 1,103 of the Arete Coach Podcast with host Severin Sorensen and guest Jim Naleid, Executive Coach, creator of EPIC 21, and CEO of Naleid & Associates. Jim describes himself as an executive coach and an executive culture and alignment coach. He is a former TEC Midwest Chair, where he was awarded two TEC Chair Excellence Awards. Before executive coaching, Jim was a financial industry executive for 25 years, where he was a Registered Principal for Robert W Baird & Co. He also hosted a radio and financial news show called "The Robert James Exchange." Additionally, he was a financial journalist and contributor to Wall Street Notes. Over the years, Jim has earned his stripes as a “veteran change agent with documented success in start-ups, emerging companies, mergers, and acquisitions.

In this podcast interview, we explore Jim's journey into executive coaching. One of Jim's core themes in coaching is: 'Rethink, Unlearn, and Think Again." In the interview, he shares his favorite questions and another source of question stems to help coaches. Jim shares his experience building and growing executive peer groups -- and his secret success weapon -- his group fills the open seats in his group. We discuss how peer groups function and the power of the group to help others in the group. Jim shares a wonderful peer group exercise using songwriting as the material for discovery. This is a wonderful interview with a great and serviceable human being.
