This is episode 1,108 of the Arete Coach Podcast with host Severin Sorensen and guest Julie Noonan, who is an executive coach and CEO of Julie Noonan Consulting, LLC, transformational change leader, speaker, consultant, and futurist. Julie's career in business started in Banking, working her way up to VP of Training for First Union National Bank, and Senior VP and Training Director at Key Bank. She started her career as a learning consultant at Ernst and Young's Center for Business Knowledge.

Today Julie is mixing it up, encouraging what she calls 'switch mentoring' getting young and old cohorts of workers to knowledge and wisdom share. In the conversation we explore Julie's comment 'people are emotional beings that occasionally think.' We explore the messy business of human relations and corporate layoffs wherein Julie has coached business leaders through hard times. We explore 'how to deal with the messiness of people, and the emotional baggage of people as business coaches and leaders. We go at length in a discussion about the business layoff process and getting leaders to feel and think ahead during this time.

Julie has worked with some of the US largest companies in creating centers for excellence, and most recently a center for the adoption of AI in the workplace. We explore how 'boomers' need to continue to learn, and particularly learn from younger generations, to stay employable, creative, and marketable at the sunset years of their careers. In the interview, we explore Julie's mantras, favorite questions, and outlook on life and coaching.
