Manage episode 302285556 series 2982111
Host Laurie Hood, founder and president of Alaqua Animal Refuge, compares techniques with Buck Wilde and Esther Gossweiler relating to her work rescuing potentially dangerous, often abused animals and their work going nose-to-nose with Brown Bears and Alaskan Sea Wolves in remote Alaska while filming a documentary. The tasks are different but their mental approach and body language awareness techniques are surprisingly similar. Lots of great advice and good stories, starting with a recording of Buck and his camera crew being charged by a 900 pound bear while working with David Attenborough. Buck was recorded in State College, PA. Esther was in Zurich, Switzerland. Laurie was at her new state-of-the art refuge in Freeport, Florida.
