In this episode we welcome Stephen Sandor and Graham Barkus, two people who took us on a trip to explore the foundations of what we value most as humans and the meaning of the work we do.

This is one of those thought-provoking episodes that leave you thinking for days afterwards!

Here’s a summary of what we discussed:

07:43 - How businesses can impact human wellbeing

10:04 - The 6 Star Business movement

12:09 - What if we changed our currency from cash to people?

17:48 - How can we play by the same rules?

22:32 - What contributes to wellbeing at work

30:19 - Getting REAL communication right

34:07 - the power of connecting in our communities

We explore the new generation of business doing things differently, focussing on community first.

Enjoy :)

Stephen Sandor

Founder, Inspiring Business

Stephen works with business owners who are looking to scale their business. The scaling may be growth, but it could be time, people or profit.

Each business has their own unique culture that has been at the core of their success, and each business has a unique set of problems, so the solutions need to be the right ones at the right time. Stephen helps guide the owners to making the best possible decision based on the information available and the experience of the team.

Something Interesting About You:

I've worked in PNG for 10 years and I ride motor bikes.

It's interesting to me :-)

Graham Barkus

Founder and MD, The Human Factor

Graham Barkus is managing partner of The Human Factor Ltd, a Hong Kong-based coaching and consulting practice focused on workplace health and performance. His passion is helping people feel better, do better and stay better at work.

Graham's 30-year career has spanned employment and consultancy roles to clients across Asia and the UK/Europe, covering public and private-sector organisations in diverse industries including banking and finance, insurance, aviation, logistics, healthcare, real estate development and FMCG.

Something Interesting About You:

As someone who enjoys dabbling in foreign languages, I featured for several months as a Mandarin-speaking foreign boss in a weekly television drama series in Singapore - with live sound no less, and became for a short time involved in Singapore's Speak Mandarin campaign. "If he can do it, anyone can....!" perhaps!
