A recent article published by Bailiwick Express previewed a visit to Guernsey by a children’s author who addresses LGBTQ+ themes in her writing. Concerns were raised on social media that the visiting author would be discussing themes unsuitable for young children, with hundreds of other comments taking the conversation in different directions. In light of the interest in this article we invited a number of guests into our studio to discuss some of the topics that came out of it. One of the women commenting on the article opposing the visit of the author was asked to come in but declined.
