The War and Treaty’s Michael and Tanya Trotter grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington, DC, respectively, but both have family roots in the South. They also grew up in the musical traditions of their churches – Tanya in the Black Baptist Church and Michael in the Seventh Day Adventist Church – where they learned the power of song to move people. After becoming a father at a very young age, Michael eventually joined the armed forces and served in Iraq and Germany, where he took up songwriting as a way of dealing with his experiences there. Meanwhile Tanya embarked on a singing and acting career after a breakthrough appearance in Sister Act 2 alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Lauryn Hill. Now, after a long and sometimes traumatic journey, Michael and Tanya are married, touring, winning all sorts of awards, and set to release their fifth album together, and their fourth as The War and Treaty. Sid talks to Michael and Tanya about the new record, Plus One , as well as their collaboration with Miranda Lambert, what it was like to record at FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, and how they’re blending country, soul, gospel, and R&B. This week, Pam & Sarah chat drool-worthy organization, own up to their personal clutter catastrophes, aaaand Joe schools us all on how to make your Google calendar your b*tch. As always, we follow it all up with two perfectly planned games: first, the gals each share their own old-school Cosmo-esque quiz to help you find your personal organizational style, before we close with a tidy little improv scene that the ladies make up on the spot, based on the rest of the episode! Shall we compare all nine of you to a dope ass queen? With flowing locks enviable by every babe of the eighties-nineteen. We're as stoked for this week as a Tiger Beat held by a tween, Because we love ya so much, it makes us try to rhyme like George Gershween.... Ok that was a stretch, but hey we tried! Per usual, we're trying something new this week and going in on poetry! Pam & Sarah are woefully unprepared, and Joe is ready to laugh at them along with all of you. Let's dive in for some of the worst poetry you've ever heard, followed by rhyme battles and an epic improv finale. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Break out the bubble wrap and throw out half of everything you own...you guessed it...it's moving tiiiime. This week’s episode has got us “chopping” at the bit! We’ve got Erica & Mike Smith in the house — the power couple behind the gorgeous craftsmanship of High Hope Woodworks. Wood puns abound as Pam and Sarah “Ash” them all about how they turned a baller hobby into a thriving business, why COVID-era date nights looked a little different for them, and why Mike has such a complicated relationship with toyboxes. And these games are “awl-some”! (Ok last pun) First up: “Lazy Susan” - the gals take turns spinning the wheel to try to stump Mike & Erica with an object that canNOT be made out of wood.
