No one cared to read the full story so Jeremiah was told to write a summary of his 30 years of sermons that could be read in one sitting. A summary of all the Bible is boiled down into one word with three main points. The Gospel, how that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again.

Three rules to live long and prosper: Avoid drinking alcohol, avoid debt accumulation and avoid disrespecting authority.

The Lord said, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. The Lord's tone of voice has changed from one of judgment to the promise of restoration. The Day of Jacob's trouble is not without hope.

The best way to change society is to promote grandchildren and pray for the government. Remember that in the time of the Bible, no government on earth supported the Lord's work.

The Lord's blessing are unmerited but not idiot proof. Say amen to the Lord's mercy but never to His judgment.

Don't hold back or alter the truth to avoid offense. The world does not own the truth and must not be allowed to redefine our theology.

Don't allow your heart to become hardened toward the Lord. The affect of sin will always leave you hopeless.

Sin always finds its culprit and unconfessed sin always has a compounding effect. When you put your trust in the things of this world and your own best effort you will always leave you disappointed and you will stand for a double jeopardy at the second death.

Fairness is never the issue, but faithfulness is always required.

In this third sermon of Jeremiah we are reminded that to obey is better than sacrifice and Christian liberty is not freedom to live as you please or by the old adage, its easier to get forgiveness than it is forgiveness.

Jeremiah was called to serve in a political climate much like today.

God's design is for the woman to honor and the husband to cherish in the same way that Jesus loved the church and gave Himself for it.

The touch and timing of the Lord are required to serve Him. You cannot serve in your own strength or on your own timing.

Don't leave the cross in the shadows but live out the resurrection of Jesus.

How gloriously adapted is Christianity for human society in all conditions! In relation to our gov’t, obey for wrath’s sake you don’t want to spend the night in jail, obey for consciencesake because your relationship to God will make you a better citizen, a better person, obey for love’s sake because that helps keep America’s standing in the world …

When your vertical relationship is right with the Lord then your horizontal relationships will find order (Mt.6:33). When you're out of sorts with others, its a symptom of your relationship with God.

WARNING: this message is long and leaves no room for discarding Israel. I promise to shorten it next time but still leave no room for deserting Israel.

Paul prayed for the salvation of Israel who were religiously zealous but far from God. The law can only ever work the righteousness of man and never the righteousness of God.

Be careful about trying to over-explain the sovereignty of God. Leave some room for the mystery of God. God never makes anyone stubborn beyond their own rebellious heart. We all start from a position of lost.

What more can be said? If God has done so much to save us, will He not now care for us? Verse 34 gives the 4-fold work of Christ: Crucifixion, Resurrection, Exaltation, and Intercession.

Some call this the ascending order of salvation. These verses are the purpose to which God has called us in v.28. We know God can provide our need because He knows our need.

This verse has been a favorite of many. R.A.Torry called it a soft pillow for a tired heart. Dr. Barnhouse added, nothing can tough me unless it passes through the will of God.

Our future is not a return to the good 'ole days but a remake of all things new. The longer I live the more I long to call heaven home.

Christmas was and is troubling to the routine of life. No one apart from the interruption of the angels would have known of this birth of the Christ Child.

The contrast is who governs or controls your life and the constant conflict is between those two competinginterests or natures. And they are mutually exclusive, the flesh or the Spirit.

Because of the Holy Spirit you have an option of who you send to answer the door when temptation comes knocking at your door.

Gratitude is the greatest virtue of the Christian life. Without gratitude all other vitues are tarnished if not missing altogether.

Paul transitions from justification to sanctification. We are fully identified with the resurrection of Jesus. Many believers are trying to live wrapped in the comfort of their grave clothes.

The blessing and basis of our salvation/justification. As in Adam we are condemned, in Christ we are justified. Just-as-if-i'd never sinner. Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul now illustrates salvation by faith alone by two famous men, Abraham who lived before the law and David who broke the law, neither could have possibly been justified by the law.

The righteousness of God is by faith alone and don't even make the mistake of considering faith an effort on your part. Works limit Christ for the Jews or else keep him on the cross. Our faith relies completely on a risen savior.

By virtue of our own conscience we are condemned. Paul gives seven great principles of God's judgment.

We say, if your heart is not in it, you're headed for disappointment if not failure. However, simultaneous with success, the heart may also be the source of all our trouble (Jer.15:9)

Merciless people are just that. Mercy and grace are the twin sisters of God's love. Mercy is a spiritual response when you have the upper hand.

Nothing in this world can satisfy and every time you seek satisfaction in anything other than how God designed you'll be unfulfilled.

Meekness is not weakness. Meekness is power under control, like a sail harnessing the wind or a race-car driver shifting gears. There is a necessary tension between doing what is possible and doing what is necessary.
