The Podcast for People who Struggle with God. Our names are Eddy and Michy Gatez, and, while we're not theologians or scholars, we are extremely passionate about Christianity and delving beyond the surface level of our faith. We see the deconstruction movement happening all around us, with people migrating away from the church, and, in this podcast, we want to focus on how we, as a church, can get back to reconstruction. It's a difficult road, but one that is worthy of travel.

The Easy Chair with R.J. Rushdoony is an audio series of colloquies, casual conversations, and roundtables presented by Chalcedon Foundation. Various topics are discussed solo by Rousas John Rushdoony and with guests, covering all areas of life and culture. Looking at life from a theonomic, Christian Reconstructionist perspective, we properly apply God's word to our lives. These episodes were originally recorded in the 1980’s-1990’s.

Scathed by scandal and riddled with controversy, the American church today faces a credibility crisis. What is the way forward for renewal in our generation? Trevin Wax offers perspective from church history and the church around the world to help listeners recommit both to removing the rot from the church and fortifying the foundations of unchanging truth. It's time to rebuild.

If the millennium is followed by great rebellion (Rev. 20:9-10), how can these rebels have been Christians? If they are not Christians, how can the millennium itself be Christian? What is the relationship in history between saving grace and common grace? North deals especially with the hard question of the weakness of the Church in history, and the power of the God-haters in history. How is it that those who hate Christ seem to prosper, while Christians seem to be powerless?

Become a Paid Subscriber: https://anchor.fm/reconstructingfaith/subscribe WARNING: This isn't a typical "religious" podcast. I wrestle with the issues that most people are uncomfortable talking about in church because religion sucks. You’ll hear episodes about Jesus, reConstructing faith after deConstructing “Christian” misconception and more. Some episodes pre 8/28/20 have adult language so be a good parent and listen alone before playing those in front of your kids.

Here in 200-pages is the handy-dandy exposition of Christian Reconstruction that you’ve been waiting for. Without exception, every published criticism of Christian Reconstruction and theonomy has grossly distorted or even lied outright about what Christian Reconstructionists believe. This is even true of some of the chapters in Westminster Theological Seminary’s book, Theonomy: A Reformed Critique. North and DeMar write to set the record straight. North’s half of the book is entitle “God’s C ...

“This little book introduces Christians to a new way of thinking about the world around them-a positive, optimistic way of thinking.” This little book is about victory. Not just victory over indwelling sin in each regenerate person’s heart, but victory over the effects of sin in every area of life. It can be done. Not perfectly, of course. Perfect victory over personal sin comes only on the day of a person’s death, or on the day of resurrection, whichever comes first. Perfect victory over th ...

When this brilliant and prophetic book was first published in 1961, the Christian homeschool movement was years away and even Christian day schools were hardly considered a viable educational alternative. But this book and the author's later Messianic Character of American Education were a resolute call to arms for Christians to get their children out of the pagan public schools and provide them with a genuine Christian education. Dr. Rushdoony had predicted that the humanist system, based o ...

The podcast that explores the Civil War, what led to it, and the world the Civil War created. From ”Black Confederates” to Reconstruction, the Lost Cause to the rising power of Black voters after the war, this podcast examines some of the most controversial issues of the mid-19th Century-and today! Your host, Patrick Young, is the author of The Immigrants’ Civil War and The Reconstruction Era Blog. He is Special Professor of Law at Hofstra University.

God’s Law is Christianity’s tool of dominion. This is where any discussion of God’s law ultimately arrives: the issue of dominion. Ask yourself: Who is to rule on earth, Christ or Satan? Whose followers have the ethically acceptable tool of dominion, Christ’s or Satan’s? What is this tool of dominion, the bibically revealed law of God, or the law of self-proclaimed autonomous man? Whose word is sovereign, God’s or man’s? Millions of Christians, sadly, have not recognized the continuing autho ...

On Saturday 22 January 2000, two men found a small holdall, abandoned on an industrial estate in the north of Sheffield. Upon opening the bag they made a gruesome discovery. A badly decomposed body. You’ll discover the forensic science techniques that were used to identify the body and understand the circ ...

In October 1990, the long-promised book by the faculty of Westminster Theological Seminary finally appeared: Theonomy: A Reformed Critique. This book is North’s two-pronged response. First, he takes up the major essays and themes of the Westminster faculty’s critique/interaction with theonomy and provides clarifications and rejoinders. Second, he argues that Westminster has abandoned the apologetic theory of Cornelius Van Til, which maintains that between the believer and the unbeliever all ...

The Christian School represents a break with humanistic education, but, too often in leaving the state school, the Christian educator has carried the state’s humanism with him. A curriculum is not neutral: it is either a course in humanism or training in a God-centered faith and life. The liberal arts curriculum means literally that course which trains students in the arts of freedom. This raises the key question: is freedom in and of man or Christ? The Christian art of freedom, that is, the ...

Today’s Christians and conservatives are largely unaware of the extent of the suffering of blacks in American History, from slavery to Jim Crow to the 1960s and even to today. They are largely unaware how systematic it was and what institutions were created specifically to maintain the injustices. Christians are largely unaware that their own clergy and churches were among the leading proponents of the systems, and have no idea of the convicting and sad reasons why, or of the theological jus ...

We have just ended a century dominated by a multitude of failed prophecies from those who looked to be raptured out of a collapsing world at any moment. The dawning of a new millennium will hopefully cause the Church to pause and consider whether these discredited prophets should be hooted off the stage. Victory in Jesus: The Bright Hope of Postmillennialism offers a sober and faithful examination of Scripture while clearly demonstrating that Christians have every reason to expect the victor ...

See Sider Squirm. If Pope John Paul II is really interested in dealing with heretical "liberation theologians" in his church, then he ought to issue this third edition of Productive Christians as a Papal encyclical. Protestants have trouble with their own liberation theologians. Some of them are Marxists in the Lamb's clothing, while others are merely Fabian socialists in the Lamb's clothing. Some of them just aren't willing to say...yet. (Tactics, you understand.) Ron Sider belongs to the t ...

According to Augustine of Hippo, “True justice has no existence save in that republic whose founder and ruler is Christ.” Augustine went on to spell out in no uncertain terms what this means for a proper understanding of the nature and authority of governments: “Justice being taken away, then, what are kingdoms but great robberies? For what are robberies themselves, but little kingdoms? The band itself is made up of men; it is ruled by the authority of a prince, it is knit together by the pa ...

"You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself idols in the form of anything . . . you shall not bow down to them or worship them." – Exodus 19:3-5 NIV Idolatry. It's been a problem with man for a long time. And, as witnessed by the first two commandments delivered to Moses on Sinai, God is serious about confronting it. According to Dr. Herbert Schlossberg in his bestselling book, IDOLS FOR DESTRUCTION, all idols fall into two general categories: Idols of nature and ...

In this book, Chilton confidently and simply proposes that the Great Tribulation, which many expect to arrive in the near future, is actually a past event. To substantiate his argument, he gives an honest hermeneutical appraisal of Christ’s teaching in the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24; Lk. 21; Mk. 13) as well as other places in the Gospels, and gives a topical commentary on the book of Revelation – all this to successfully demonstrate that these events find their fulfillment in our past, not i ...

On May 25th, 1787, a group of 55 men gathered for a closed meeting in Philadelphia. Officially, it was being convened to discuss alterations to the then constitution of the United States of America: the Articles of Confederation. Some state legislatures had authorized their representatives to attend the meeting only on this basis, explicitly prohibiting them from considering a new constitution. To make certain that the general public did not find out about the nature of this conspiracy, the ...

The deterioration of academic standards and discipline in state schools in the last twenty-five years has finally forced the issue of education upon the consciences of many Christians who would not otherwise have considered it. There is both good and bad in this. The crisis in education has led some to reconsider the whole issue of education and the place of Christian children in a state system that promotes secular humanism and multi-culturalism as a virtue, and discourages the traditional ...

The Long Neglected Covenant To borrow from Will Rogers' comment on the weather, "Everyone talks about the covenant, but nobody does anything about it." There is a good reason for this: in the history of Christianity there has never been a theologian who has explained to anyone's satisfaction just what the Biblical covenant is. We have heard about "covenant theology" since Calvin's day, but can anyone tell us just what Calvin said the covenant is, how it works, and what common features are fo ...

This audiobook is currently unfinished. If you would like to volunteer to help complete it please reach out. For now, please enjoy it as is. Is Christ's Church Predestined To Failure? The vast majority of those who call themselves evangelical Christians believe that the Church of Jesus Christ has been predestinated by God to fail in history. "It cannot possibly succeed!" Millions of Christians believe that the Church will be "raptured" soon, removing Christians from the turmoils and responsi ...

This is quite possibly the most comprehensive verse by verse treatment of the Book of Revelation ever written. David Chilton has tackled what Calvin and Luther never even attempted. Following in the train of thought of his Paradise Restored, Chilton sees the Church triumphant to the end with Satan defeated at the return of Christ. The Apostle John presents a vision of victorious Christians who overcome all opposition through the work of Jesus Christ. Chilton asserts that for too long the Chu ...
