The Crafty Rogues is a podcast featuring John Cosgrove and Stephen Quinn. Cosgrove is from Aghadrumsee in the North of Ireland. Quinno is from Wollongong in Australia. Between them they’ve watched/attended/played thousands of games of football/futbol/soccer. However, they’re just as happy talking about music, movies, food, drink, politics, drink, books, culture and the ex-pat experience The Crafty Rogues, available each week wherever you access your podcasts. Could be tasty.

The boys welcomed special guest, music maven extraordinaire Graeme Hoey, to the show this week. Yes, there was still sport and craic, but with Graeme in the house, it was a very Twin Cities music-centric chat. It's really good stuff.โดย The Crafty Rogues

Well, that's it for 2024 from a Crafty Rogues perspective. And what did we learn in the final show of the year? Not a lot, to be honest. But good Lord, it was fun. You can't ask for too much more than that. Enjoy.โดย The Crafty Rogues

'Twas the show before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even John's mouse. Yes, we crow-barred that in, but there really is a bit about John's mouse in the show. This is the last show of 2024, and we humbly submit that the boys ended the year in style. This is top-shelf craic.…

After a week in which John debuted as a stand up comic, Quinno went to work in an Hawaiian shirt and FIFA granted the World Cup tournament to Saudi Arabia, one of those things is bound to make your eyes roll...โดย The Crafty Rogues

It was a very intimate, personal start to the show this week. In the first three minutes, John maintained that he wouldn't pardon his son, and Quinno revealed some nasty on-field abuse he once copped. Imagine what's in the other 40 minutes or so!โดย The Crafty Rogues

This week's pre-Thanksgiving episode is best summed up by a cross-section of topics mentioned: Gout...Billy Connolly...Pickleball...flying...schadenfreude...the Wankdorf Stadium...Eric Gates...Dungeons & Dragons...and Cards Against Humanity. Good luck finding that lineup anywhere else!โดย The Crafty Rogues

Yes, there was a bit of sahhkerrrr and rugby talked about, but the cultural scope of this week's show also encompassed a card game, the new dodgy stick, Smokie, Suzy Quatro, Olivia Rodrigo, Graham Norton, and Sonny Bono. Didn't see that last one coming, did you?โดย The Crafty Rogues

How to summarize this week's show? Let's just throw some random stuff out there and see what sticks. Slopey football pitches...Billie Eilish...northern referees...David Coote...Apple TV...doom spending...divisiveness and intolerance...Liam Delap...Keb' Mo'...and meeting new people. Something for everyone…

With an election on the horizon, the boys delivered a show full of references to sport, airports, rock bands, TV shows, and New Zealand accents. Okay, there was some election stuff, too. But mainly sport, airports, rock bands, TV shows, and New Zealand accents.โดย The Crafty Rogues

Jet lag, shmet lag! The show must go on, and it did. The boys touched on topics as diverse as wine, beer, Leon Bridges, Sharon Horgan, colonialism, Vini Jnr, Erling Haaland, Danny Welbeck, flight cancellation protocol, and...wait for it...Troy Parrott. Yes, THAT Troy Parrott!โดย The Crafty Rogues

There was an eclectic mix of topics discussed on this week's show. Here's a taster: radio, Casey Kasem, internal house painting, Celtic vs Rangers, NFL stadium drink prices, and the value of joining a team. Proceed at your own risk.โดย The Crafty Rogues

There are many teaching moments in this week's show. Don't confuse 'man dip' with 'man sauce' is one of them. As is, never read the comments section. Both are just common sense, really. You're welcome.โดย The Crafty Rogues

"There's a lot of top-shelf craic sprinkled throughout this week's show. And among the "toppest shelfest" (technical term) is the list of the best gags from the Edinburgh Fringe. If you like hearing two grown men cry with laughter, it's the segment for you!โดย The Crafty Rogues

It's Premier League preview week with the great Carl Craig, who added his football wisdom AND his musical stylings to the show. Cosgrove made some bold predictions, Carl made some bold cultural references, and Quinno did his best to keep up. Hey, the Poch took the USMNT job! This could be fun.โดย The Crafty Rogues

Quinno's jet lag be damned, the boys were in sparkling form this week. Especially if you're a fan of the Calm app, the North Sydney Bears, political optimism, Olympic backstories, and the Fermanagh women's GAA football team. Let's be honest, who isn't?โดย The Crafty Rogues

The show had a distinctive French flavor this week, which seemed appropriate as the Olympics got under way in Paris. What happens when you replace a simple sandwich maker from Australia with a chef from France? You get extra sauce where even a humble ham and cheese sandwich gets a little "Je ne sais pas quoi".…

As Quinno swans around Sydney, it was left to Ruairi Barnwell to return to the Crafty studio and fill the deminutive shoes. Hurling, Football, Slaggin', Bog walks, Irish networking skills and of course plenty of craic!โดย The Crafty Rogues

It's Quinno's last show before he heads to 'Straya for a couple of weeks, and it was a good 'un. Well, especially if you're interested in Tenacious D, biographies, All Ireland Finals, Dr. Ruth, Alexi Lalas, and Icelandic youth soccer teams. Who isn't?โดย The Crafty Rogues

Cosgrove's back from Ireland and the craic was top shelf. Consider this for a list of topics addressed: singing lessons, the oldest bar in Ireland, Hozier, university orientation, Jurgen Klopp, England's Euros semi-final win, landscapes, Jimmy Anderson, and Alexi Lalas. Sorry about that last one.โดย The Crafty Rogues

Ruairi Barnwell from Ireland Network Minnesota stopped by to talk about how the organization helps build a bridge for newly arrived Irish men and women in the community. The craic was fierce, as you can imagine.โดย The Crafty Rogues

Now that the dust has settled after the end of the Premier League campaign, the boys thought it was time to take a look back at the season as a whole. That, of course, means a visit from the great Carl Craig. Have some!โดย The Crafty Rogues

Quinno was more than a little unwell, but Cosgrove picked up the slack in fine style. It actually ended up being a really fun show, especially if you're a fan of Toronto, Crunchies, USA cricket, watching football at Brit's, and N'Golo Kante. Rory McIlroy fans may feel differently.โดย The Crafty Rogues

It's tournament time in Europe and the Americas, and the boys are all over it. Yet, they still managed to squeeze in discussions about lawn mowing, art galleries, Star Wars action figures, Graham Rix's hair, and Saoirse Ronan. Rude not to, really.โดย The Crafty Rogues

The Iowa Tourism Board should sponsor this episode, for reasons which will become obvious when you listen. Other places to get a mention include Munich, Burnley, Plymouth, Barcelona, and Micky's Pub. Four of those places are not in Iowa.โดย The Crafty Rogues

If you're a fan of sahhkerrr, basketball, Jeremy Messersmith, "Bodkin", "MacGruber", GAA, AFL, Art-a-Whirl, Toni Kroos, and The Knack, this is the show for you. If you're a fan of Manchester City or red caps, maybe not so much...but listen anyway.โดย The Crafty Rogues

In this week's episode we learn about John's Mother's Day side gig, international art installations, what you can do with a Business degree, the petulance of substituted players, and the Stations of the Croissant. Despite all of that, this was still a very entertaining show. Go figure.โดย The Crafty Rogues

In this one episode, you get a music review, a brilliant football transfer idea, news on the Methodist church, a comment on the current unrest on college campuses, and a considered opinion on Kenny Hibbitt's looks. There's good food in San Antonio...Bernardo Silva looked like he hadn't slept for a week...ANZAC Day is a big deal in 'Straya...and if you're the Watford manager, rent don't buy. There, that sums up this week's show quite nicely. Proceed with caution.โดย The Crafty Rogues

John's headed to the homeland with his son, but not before a pre-trip show that involved female Vikings, lottery wins, a TV show, excessive rain, Mikel Arteta's personality, Cole Palmer's looks, and the relative merits of experts. All the intellectual food groups, really.โดย The Crafty Rogues

There was a bit of an Easter theme running through this week's show. Why? Well, Manchester City vs Arsenal was dull. John missed the game because he was at church. He was at church to attend Pastor Jeff Cowmeadow's final sermon. Oh, and it was Easter.โดย The Crafty Rogues

The boys were joined in the studio by Andrea Yoch, co-founder and board member of Minnesota Aurora FC. The Aurora's story is a compelling one, and it's doubtful that anyone tells it better than Andrea. This is great stuff.โดย The Crafty Rogues

On this week's show we learned what St. Recovery Day is...it was revealed that Totti loves pineapple on pizza...and there's a growing call for John to be an ambassador for Aer Lingus. It's basically only John and Quinno making that call, but still.โดย The Crafty Rogues

There was a distinct St. Patrick's theme about this week's show, what with the day itself on the horizon, and the imminent arrival of St. Patrick's Athletic FC to take on Minnesota United on Wednesday at Allianz Field. The boys had a chat about both, and were joined by St. Patrick's Athletic's Technical Director, Alan Mathews. Quality craic!…

Callum Williams was the special guest on this week's show, and he was as entertaining and informative as always. Cosgrove and Quinno did quite well too, in their own Crafty way.โดย The Crafty Rogues
