Dr. James Clifton, a senior gastroenterologist, well known internationally for his many contributions to a variety of professional organizations, is interviewed. Dr. Clifton, for whom the James A. Clifton Center for Digestive Diseases is named, retired in 1990, but served as interim Dean for the University of Iowa College of Medicine until 1993.…
Dr. Jim Fuller is an award winning professor at the University of Iowa School of Dentistry. He also serves as a consultant for several dental publications and has authored numerous scientific articles. He's also an expert bird sighter who works with the Johnson County Songbird Project.
Born in Spain, Dr. Ignacio Ponseti has been an orthopedic surgeon and professor at University of Iowa for over 40 years. He worked with congenital and developmental bone disorders and skeletal disorders in children. In the 50s he developed a method for treating club feet with minimal surgery.
Miriam Gilbert is a Shakespeare scholar and University of Iowa Professor, who has been teaching theater and drama to graduate and undergraduate students for 33 years. She is co-author of "Modern & Contemporary Drama" and is an award-winning teacher.
After researching places to retire, John and Sandra Hudson chose Iowa City to be their home. Since arriving in 1997, they have become familiar faces supporting and attending arts and cultural events in Johnson County and are true advocates for the arts.
Gerhild Krapf is an attorney and musician, and she has served as in-house counsel at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and in central administration. She’s also an accomplished organist who’s given cherished musical contributions to the Iowa City community.
