One of the best things you can do in your business is to take special orders and commissioned art pieces. I do several commissions a year and it keep me on my game, this is where I can pay the bills and create for others to outfit their space and bring them joy with my art. One of the most important tools you should have in your arsenal is to have a contract to create the artwork, this is how you will be taken seriously as an artist but as a savvy business person.
