Jodi Thompson has been writing for as long as she can remember, but her real talent lies in assisting others with their dreams. After spending some time as a freelance book manager and publicist, she founded a small, traditional publishing house, Fawkes Press. She also dabbles in cozy mysteries as Moira Bates. Earlier this year, she started Terrible Advice: Author Edition as guidance for writers in all stages.
In this episode, Megan and Greta talk with Jodi about traditional publishing and the benefits of a small press as opposed to one of the big guys. She shares her experience with creating pop-up conferences and why she's created her new YouTube channel. Last, we share our difficulties with perfectionism and giving ourselves enough grace and patience to work through the 10,000 hours needed for mastery.
