On Nuestra America episode 10, we will be discussing why Latin Americans should focus on adapting Marxism to our own conditions rather than getting caught up in Eurocentric theoretical infighting. As Marxists and materialists we must be focused on the conditions that impact our people and communities and not distracted by struggles dating back a century before. We recognize the contributions of soviet Marxism and agree that there’s a lot to learn from their revolution and their theorists. What we will emphasize, however, is that there’s a need to Latin Americanize Marxism. As Mariátegui proposed; socialism in Latin America cannot be a copy of European socialism, it has to be a heroic creation. As always the second part of the show will be a run down of the weekly news around the region and the diaspora.
