A quick update on Lion Cub's Cookies - be on the lookout for their new storefront coming to Grandview (OH) Summer 2021!

Here's what Brad has to say on Instagram...

So what's happening behind the scenes right now at Lion Cub's?⁣⁣

Well, a lot! But there's two things in particular I want to share ☺️⁣

First, I've always wanted to create an equitable environment, where we all have a hand in the businesses success, but also, share in the benefits of it's success...this is important 🙏⁣

So, as all my employees now know after last week, I've started an employee profit sharing program. It's exactly what it sounds like. Every quarter I take a fixed portion of the profits and redistribute them back to the employees as a bonus. I feel we should all benefit from our shared success, so the better the business does, the more we are ALL rewarded. This is somewhat of a rarity especially in this industry. For us, this is something each employee is eligible for, regardless if you're a delivery driver or you're the GM, the only person who is not eligible for this bonus is me.⁣⁣

Next, I have made a big step as a business owner and have made my first full time hire, @huntergordon1⁣

At 23 years old, Hunter will be our GM in grandview, quite the feat for someone of his age. Hunter has been my right hand man throughout this journey, he soaks up new information like a sponge, is very coachable, and is always eager to learn more ⁣

More than anything though, Hunter is a pleasure to work with. Ask anyone who has dealt with him and you will receive glowing reviews. Both customers and employees alike have gone out of their way to tell me how helpful and pleasant he is to be around. I am proud to have him as my first full time hire and I am confident he is the exact right person for the job⁣⁣

Hopefully, as we grow, I can continue to invest in my staff, which is exactly what I plan on doing. One of my philosophies as founder of this company is in order for me to benefit, I must take care of those around me first. This is why I went a very long time before I ever paid myself and I currently pay myself about 30% of my salary in my previous career. My time will come, but only after I take care of others first.⁣

Cheers to the future ⁣🦁🍪⁣

Lion Cub's Cookies are different. They're big! They're bold! They're warm and gooey on the inside with just the right amount of crunch on the outside!

We talk with Brad Kaplan, a recent graduate with his MBA from The Ohio State University.

He had an idea to sell cookies. But these are not your average cookies.

“I was struggling to come up with a name for a long time,” noted Kaplan. “My dad called me when I was a kid, lion cub.”

He spent the entire month of November 2019 testing cookies and finally started selling in March of 2020.

Once he heard about COVID-19 and the stay at home order was issued, like any new business owner, he got worried. He knew he was fortunate in a way because the business was so small at the time and didn’t have a lot of overhead costs.

He quickly realized the only way to stay afloat and keep his employees on payroll was to start a delivery service. He started the process manually and would have people send in orders and cluster some of the deliveries together.

Find out more about how and when to order, based on where you live around Central Ohio, on the website.
