Tim served 10 years in the military and was deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and we are extremely grateful for his service. Jim Overmyer is the author of Cum Posey of the Homestead Grays: A Biography of the Negro Leagues Owner and Hall of Famer. Jim is a baseball history author specializing in the Negro Leagues. A prolific author, he has written a wonderful book which provides an in depth story on Cumberland Posey who is one of only two athletes to be honored by two pro sports hall of fames, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Posey was the principal owner of the Homestead Grays, spending 35 years (1911-1946) in baseball as a player, manager, owner and club official. Besides being an author and member of the Pandemic Baseball Book Club, Jim was also involved with one of the Baseball Hall of Fame’s special nominating committees which he also discusses.
