Being confined to a wheelchair cannot stop Shane Hmiel.
The former "Bad Boy" of Nascar, known as Real Deal Shane Hmiel was known for his immense intensity and his blatant disregard for the rules.
After suffering a lifetime ban from Nascar, a 3 year battle for sobriety and a return to racing, everything would change one evening at Terre Haute Action Track in 2010.
Though he actually flatlined 4 different times while fighting for his life after the tragic wreck.
Since that time, his fighting spirit has only increased.
Spend one moment around Shane and you will feel that the spunk, zest for life, and love for racing has never left. Despite his limitations.
During this incredibly unique time in our world's history, battling through COVID-19, Shane's story will bring perspective and empathy sure to shift you from a state of personal anxiety to immense gratitude.
